Chris Doman

Chris Doman is a consulting cybersecurity threat researcher for the Vectra Networks® professional services group in the United Kingdom. Before joining Vectra, Chris was a member of the Cyber Threat Detection and Response team at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he responded to client security incidents and tracked threat activities to provide warnings of ongoing attacks. Chris joined the cybersecurity industry after winning the civilian section of the U.S. Department of Defense forensics competition. He has also published several research papers about targeted attacks, Dridex and other malware types, phishing techniques, and encryption. Chris is a CREST certified host intrusion analyst, holds a degree in computer science from the University of Cambridge and runs the popular threat intelligence portal ThreatCrowd.org.

Moonlight – Targeted attacks in the Middle East

Vectra Threat Labs researchers have uncovered the activities of a group of individuals currently engaged in targeted attacks against entities in the Middle East. We identified over 200 samples of malware generated by the group over the last two years. These attacks are themed around Middle Eastern political issues and the motivation appears to relate to espionage, as opposed to opportunistic or criminal intentions.
